Another Difficult Post

I lost Jo this morning.  She died in less than 24 hours of me noticing something was off.  You know I just can't bring myself to write about what I thought it was and what, after more reading, I'm suspecting it was.  Maybe later.

Losing a hen continues to be heart-wrenching.

  1. Ooh, so sorry to read.
My daughter tells me that her hens have very distinct personalities, so it's very much like losing a pet..
RIP sweet Jo , you were loved.
    Hugs,

  2. So sorry to read this post Janet and to hear of the loss of your lovely Jo. It is always heart wrenching to lose them as they really do become part of the family and are much loved pets. Chickens and chicken illnesses are such a mystery to me. One of the main things that surprises me is one minute they seem absolutely fine and in the blink of the eye you can tell something is wrong. I don't think you can ever learn enough about chickens , it seems to be a continual learning curve. I know it's no consolation and not much comfort to you at the moment, but you must always remember what a wonderful life you have given her and how happy and well cared for she has always been.

  3. Mosquitoes can be a real nuisance in the warm summer months, and sometimes they seem to bite even when repellent is used. ganga bhakti bhajan bhakti song
