As I pondered what in the world to talk about on this post -- since there's absolutely nothing new in the chonkey world -- each topic was rejected.
Do I tell you about how my car has been in the shop for three weeks because I hit a deer?
No. Boring.
Do I tell you how I have a pulled muscle in my back that has made normal life impossible?
No. Whiny.
Do I tell you how I bought a new (used) Oreck vacuum and now don't have to lug the heavy beast up the stairs?
No. Super boring.
So instead I'll provide the recipe for the soup I made last night for dinner. I think it equals that of my favorite middle eastern restaurant.
Crushed Lentil Soup
I followed it to the letter, except for the saffron, which I don't have in my spice inventory. And blenderizing the entirety of the pot. Only half for me.
See what you think.
Oh Janet you are never boring and I love hearing what's happening in your world. It's always great to stay in touch with you and your lot. To be honest there is not a great deal happening over here either - we are all plodding along (but 'plodding' is fine as long as every one is happy and healthy). Bitterly cold here again now although all the daffodils are out so Spring must be around the corner - hopefully. The chicken coops are a muddy mess as it hasn't stopped raining for days. Think the girls are getting fed up with it - we could all do with some sunshine. Lentil soup sounds lovely. Might give it a try as I don't eat any meat at all now, it's lentils and vegetables all the way for me.
ReplyDeleteLouise, your comments always make me smile.
ReplyDeleteWe're warming up this week, with rain, so I'm sure we'll be sharing your muddy coops soon enough. Although I still look out the window to snow and ice, but perhaps a little less each day.
Here's to vegetarians!
